Maximum temperatures of packed columns – Molecular Sieves

23 Jun 2015

For my fourth post in this series, I would like to focus on molecular sieve packed columns.   At Restek, our three most common molecular sieve packings are the ShinCarbon, 5A, and 13X.  The ShinCarbon is a carbon molecular sieve, while the 5A and 13X are zeolite molecular sieves.

* May be briefly programmed to this temperature.  Extended conditioning/drying at high temperatures may cause surface activity.

** Only use clean (hydrocarbon-free), dry nitrogen at the maximum temperature(s).  Extended conditioning/drying using other carrier gases at high temperatures may cause surface activity.
